The Geelong Magistrates Court has released its full list of appearances for Friday, May 1, 2025, covering a wide range of criminal and civil matters. The list includes individuals facing charges related to theft, assault, drug offences, and traffic violations, among others.

Morning Session Cases

The morning session will commence at 9:30 AM, with Magistrate Peter Mithen presiding. Among the first cases is that of John Smith, 34, of Norlane, who faces two counts of theft from a motor vehicle. Smith is also charged with possessing a prohibited weapon. His matter is listed for mention.

Sarah Jones, 28, of Belmont, will appear on charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm following an incident at a local nightclub on April 15. Jones is expected to enter a plea.

In a separate matter, David Brown, 45, of Grovedale, faces charges of drug trafficking and possession of a controlled substance. Police allege Brown was found with 50 grams of methamphetamine during a traffic stop on April 20. His case is listed for a committal hearing.

Traffic Offences

Several traffic-related matters are also scheduled. Michael Wilson, 22, of Waurn Ponds, will be sentenced for driving while disqualified and exceeding the speed limit by more than 45 km/h. Wilson was apprehended on the Princes Highway on April 10.

Emma Taylor, 31, of Ocean Grove, faces a charge of drink driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.12. Taylor's matter is listed for a contested hearing.

Afternoon Session Cases

The afternoon session, starting at 2:15 PM, will be overseen by Magistrate Ann Collins. Notable cases include that of Robert Davis, 38, of Corio, who is charged with burglary and criminal damage. Davis allegedly broke into a convenience store on April 5 and caused extensive damage. He is also facing a breach of bail.

In a family violence matter, Lisa White, 29, of Highton, will appear on charges of contravening a family violence intervention order. The matter is listed for a plea hearing.

Additionally, several individuals will appear for mention on charges including drug possession, shoplifting, and public intoxication. The court will also hear applications for adjournments and variations to bail conditions.
