A 19-year-old man has tragically died after being pulled from the water at a well-known camping location in Western Australia's South West region.
Emergency Call to Popular Dam
Police and paramedics were called to Logue Brook Dam in Hoffmann at approximately 5.20am on Saturday morning. The popular recreational area, which is overlooked by the Lake Brockman tourist park, is a favourite destination for campers and water sports enthusiasts.
Upon arrival, emergency services discovered the young man had already been recovered from the lake. Paramedics were informed the man was unresponsive when pulled from the water before their arrival. Despite their efforts, the teenager could not be revived.
Death Not Treated as Suspicious
A police spokesman confirmed the devastating outcome. "Emergency services attended the area and sadly, the 19-year-old male was located deceased," the spokesman said.
Authorities have stated the death is not being treated as suspicious. A report will now be prepared for the coroner as part of the standard procedure following an unexpected death. The incident has cast a shadow over the popular camping spot just days before the Christmas holiday period.
