The much-loved Bluewater Gardening Fair and Flower Show is set to bloom in a new location this year, moving to the grounds of Bluewater State School. Organisers have announced the expansion, citing the need for more space to accommodate the growing number of exhibitors and visitors.
New Venue Offers More Room
The fair, which has been a staple in the community for years, will now take place at Bluewater State School on Saturday, July 22, from 8am to 2pm. The new location provides ample space for the popular plant stalls, workshops, and demonstrations that draw gardening enthusiasts from across the region.
What to Expect
Attendees can look forward to a wide variety of activities, including expert talks on sustainable gardening, hands-on flower arranging sessions, and a dedicated children's area with fun, educational activities. Local nurseries and garden clubs will showcase their best plants and flowers, with many available for purchase.
The event will also feature a competitive flower show, where participants can enter their finest blooms for judging. Categories include roses, orchids, succulents, and more. Winners will receive prizes and recognition for their horticultural achievements.
Community Spirit
Organiser Sarah Thompson expressed excitement about the move. "We've outgrown our previous venue, and Bluewater State School offers the perfect setting for us to expand and improve the experience for everyone," she said. "The school community has been incredibly supportive, and we're looking forward to a fantastic day."
The fair is a volunteer-run event, with proceeds going towards local community projects and the school's gardening program. Entry is free, though donations are welcome.
