A restaurant in Perth’s CBD is offering diners a chance to have their entire bill wiped at the end of their meal, should they be lucky enough.
Apple Daily’s Dine on the Dice
Apple Daily, perched atop the Print Hall precinct on St Georges Terrace, is introducing what it believes to be an Australian-first chance-based game labelled ‘Dine on the Dice’.
Guests simply order à la carte as they typically would, and at the end of the meal, one diner per table is encouraged to roll a 10-sided die to determine how their bill is cleared.
Should they roll a 7, the entire bill up to that point is wiped. If not, the table pays for their meal as per normal.
Inspiration Behind the Concept
David Heaton, CEO of NightOwl Entertainment, said the ploy is designed to add a bit of fun and intrigue to a regular dining experience.
“I picked up the idea while travelling, inspired by a trade lottery-style dining concept that introduced a sense of interaction to the table,” he said.
“It’s something we felt could translate well at Apple Daily, particularly with our shared dining style. Dine on the Dice is our way of adding a layer of fun without taking away from the food.”
Menu and Dining Experience
Apple Daily is an Asian-fusion bar and restaurant headed by chef James Wong. Dishes include coconut curry, beef shoulder rendang, and pork belly dry ramen, with guests offered a drinks menu featuring cocktails, beer, and a selection of Japanese favourite sake.
Dine on the Dice runs during dinner service Wednesday to Saturday from 5pm, and is only available to walk-ins and bookings for tables of up to nine guests.
One roll is permitted per table and must land within the dice board to count, with the resulting outcome deemed final. Diners will have the opportunity to play from May 1 to June 27.
