Two Perth Crashes Leave Child and Driver Seriously Injured, Car Hits House
Serious Perth Crashes Injure Child, Driver; Car Hits House

Emergency services in Perth were stretched overnight responding to two serious crashes that left a driver and a child with significant injuries, including a shocking incident where a car ploughed into a suburban home.

Car Smashes Into Baldivis Home

The first and most dramatic incident occurred in Baldivis, in the city's southern suburbs, just before 11:30 PM on Friday night. Police report that a vehicle left the road on Sixty Eight Road and crashed directly into a house.

The impact was severe, causing substantial damage to the property. Remarkably, the occupants inside the home at the time escaped physical injury, though they were undoubtedly shaken by the terrifying event.

The driver of the vehicle, however, was not so fortunate. The individual, whose age and gender have not been released, sustained serious injuries in the collision. St John Ambulance paramedics rushed to the scene and transported the driver to Royal Perth Hospital for urgent medical treatment.

Child Seriously Hurt in Separate Edgewater Collision

In a separate and equally concerning incident, a child was seriously injured in a crash in Edgewater, located in Perth's northern corridor. This collision happened earlier in the evening, around 8:40 PM on Friday.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Joondalup Drive and Marri Road. Emergency services, including police and paramedics, were quickly dispatched to the scene.

A child involved in this collision suffered serious injuries. Paramedics provided immediate critical care at the scene before transporting the young patient to Perth Children's Hospital. The current condition of the child has not been disclosed by authorities.

Investigations Underway for Both Crashes

Major Crash Investigation Squad detectives are now leading the probe into both serious incidents. Their forensic work will be crucial in determining the exact causes of each crash.

In the Baldivis case, investigators will examine why the vehicle left the roadway and collided with the house. For the Edgewater crash, the circumstances leading to the collision at the intersection will be under scrutiny.

Police have not indicated whether speed, alcohol, or other factors are suspected in either case, emphasising that investigations are in their early stages. They are urging any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage related to either crash to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers.

These back-to-back serious crashes have highlighted road safety concerns overnight in Perth. They serve as a stark reminder for all motorists to exercise extreme caution, particularly during night-time hours and in residential areas.
