Shocking CCTV footage has emerged showing the terrifying moment an 18-year-old man was struck by a car and thrown into the air in a Mandurah hit-and-run incident.
Confronting Footage Captures the Incident
The video, obtained by 7NEWS, shows TJ Wells attempting to cross Mandurah Terrace at approximately 12:30pm on Monday, December 3, 2025. As the young man walks, a vehicle is seen crossing onto the incorrect side of the road before striking him from behind with significant force.
The impact propels the 18-year-old into the air before he lands heavily on the ground. The vehicle involved did not stop and is seen leaving the scene immediately after the collision.
Friends Rush to Aid, Emergency Services Respond
Friends who were with Mr Wells at the time were captured on camera rushing to his aid as he lay motionless on the road. Emergency services, including St John WA paramedics and Western Australia Police, arrived at the scene a short time later.
TJ Wells was transported to Peel Health Campus for treatment on Monday afternoon. Fortunately, he sustained what have been described as minor injuries and was discharged after receiving medical attention.
His injuries included:
- A gash to his head
- Multiple scratches
- Bruising
Police Investigation Underway
WA Police have confirmed they are actively investigating the hit-and-run incident. Authorities are reviewing the CCTV footage and appealing for any witnesses or additional information that could help identify the driver and the vehicle involved.
