A tragic single-vehicle crash in Western Australia's Wheatbelt region has claimed the life of one woman and left two men fighting for their lives in hospital.
Details of the Fatal Collision
The incident occurred on Monday night, January 12, 2026, at approximately 9:05pm. According to police reports, a white Mazda 3C sedan was travelling in a north-easterly direction along the Great Eastern Highway through the small community of Clackline, located about 20 kilometres south of Toodyay.
For reasons yet to be determined, the vehicle left the roadway and collided with a tree. The impact of the crash was severe, resulting in catastrophic damage to the car.
Victims and Emergency Response
A 39-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the vehicle, sustained fatal injuries in the collision. Despite the efforts of emergency services, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, a 29-year-old man, and another passenger, a 43-year-old man, were both extracted from the wreckage with critical injuries. They were urgently transported to Royal Perth Hospital for emergency treatment, where they remain in a critical condition.
