A young man has lost his life following a devastating collision between a car and a bus on the New South Wales Central Coast.

Emergency Response to Scenic Drive Crash

Emergency services rushed to Scenic Drive at Colongra on Wednesday night, January 7, after receiving reports of a serious crash around 7:30pm. The incident involved a bus and a car.

Despite the efforts of NSW Ambulance paramedics who treated the car driver at the scene, the 26-year-old man could not be saved and died at the location. He had not been formally identified as of Thursday morning.

Bus Driver Uninjured, Police Investigation Launched

The driver of the bus was not physically injured in the collision. However, he was taken to hospital as a precaution and was expected to undergo mandatory testing, which is standard procedure following serious incidents.

Only the two drivers were involved, with no passengers reported in either vehicle. This detail has been confirmed by investigating officers.

Traffic and Highway Patrol officers, assisted by police from the Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command, established a crime scene and have commenced a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.

Appeal for Information and Traffic Impact

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the collision to come forward. They are particularly interested in speaking to motorists who may have dashcam footage of the incident or the events leading up to it.
