A domestic disturbance in Sydney's north-west has ended in tragedy, with a woman found stabbed to death inside a home and a man fighting for his life in hospital.

Early Morning Horror on Illabo Street

The violent incident unfolded at a property on Illabo Street in Quakers Hill in the early hours of Sunday morning. Police received distressed calls concerning a disturbance at the address at approximately 5am.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a man with serious stab wounds on a footpath outside the home. Paramedics treated him for life-threatening injuries before rushing him to Liverpool Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

Inside the home, police found the body of a woman who had suffered fatal stab wounds. She has not yet been formally identified.

Swift Arrest Follows Tragic Discovery

Detectives quickly established a crime scene and launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the double stabbing.

In a significant development, roughly half an hour after police were first called, a 47-year-old man presented himself at Blacktown Police Station. He was subsequently arrested in relation to the attack.

The man is currently assisting police with their inquiries and has not yet been formally charged. Investigations are ongoing as authorities piece together the events that led to the horrific scene.

The quiet suburban street has been cordoned off as forensic officers continue their examination of the property. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local Quakers Hill community.
