Brisbane Couple Left in Fear After Armed Home Invasion in Rochdale
A Brisbane couple has been left fearing for their lives after four armed intruders broke into their home in Rochdale, threatening to shoot them during a terrifying early morning incident.
Early Morning Terror in Skyview Ave
Elena Parolin and her husband, both aged in their 60s, were asleep upstairs in their Skyview Ave home when they heard a loud bang in the early hours of Monday morning. When Parolin went downstairs around 5.15am to investigate, she discovered four intruders ransacking her home.
In security camera footage captured from inside the property, the young men can be heard shouting "get the gun, get the gun, shoot her shoot her" before blood-curdling screams ring out. Parolin recounted the harrowing experience, stating, "I just felt that I was going to lose my life this morning. I didn't know whether it was going to be by a gunshot or by a knife, but I just felt like I shouldn't have to feel so unsafe in my own home."
Violent Confrontation and Injuries
When Parolin threatened to call the police, one of the thieves knocked her phone out of her hand, resulting in a cut and fractured finger that required hospital treatment. She expressed her distress, saying, "My husband and I were minding our own business, for people to intrude into my home, armed, and threatening me with my life."
This incident marks the second time the couple's home has been targeted by thieves in the past six months, adding to their ongoing sense of vulnerability and fear.
Police Investigation and Public Appeal
Police are actively searching for the four offenders and believe they may be connected to a number of other crimes across Brisbane's south side. Authorities are urging anyone with information or vision, including dashcam or CCTV footage, to come forward and contact police immediately to assist in the investigation.
