Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of a man's body near a roadway in the Lake Macquarie region.
Early Morning Discovery on Wyee Farms Road
Emergency services responded to a concern for welfare call at approximately 5:30 am on Monday, December 15. The grim discovery was made on the side of Wyee Farms Road at Wyee. Upon arrival, officers located the body of a 43-year-old man lying beside the roadway.
Police Establish Crime Scene and Commence Inquiries
Lake Macquarie police immediately established a crime scene and have begun a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man's death. A NSW Police spokesperson confirmed that a postmortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
While the investigation is ongoing to piece together the events leading to the tragedy, police indicated that the death was not being treated as suspicious as of Tuesday, December 16.

Authorities are urging anyone with information that could assist the investigation to come forward. Police are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the man in the Wyee area prior to 5:30 am on Monday, December 15.
