The fire, which forced residents in parts of Ellenbrook to evacuate on Thursday afternoon, is no longer moving and is contained and under control.

Residents in Ellenbrook were forced to evacuate on Thursday afternoon, with some sheltering indoors and watching in horror as flames raged just metres away across the road. The bushfire was first reported around 2.45pm, creating a scene of chaos and fear in the community.
One resident, Ngawai Taiapa, filmed the fire from the front door of their house, capturing haunting images of the smoke-filled sky erupting with flames. Others in Addingham Drive had a close call as the bushfire came dangerously close to homes, with some residents standing and watching the horror unfold.
Fire Downgraded to Advice Level Overnight
The bushfire was downgraded to an advice level about 11pm on Thursday for locals bound by Galatea Pass, Farmaner Parkway, Kerang Way, and Elmridge Parkway. A spokesperson for the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) stated, "The alert level for this has been downgraded as the fire is stationary."
This downgrade comes after intense firefighting efforts, including Matt Beilken who fought the bushfire at the side of his house in Addingham Drive. The containment marks a significant relief for the affected community, though the damage to up to nine homes serves as a stark reminder of the fire's impact.
