The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) escalated the threat level on Sunday afternoon, issuing a formal "Prepare to Leave" warning for people in parts of Jane Brook, Red Hill, and Swan View.
The alert zone is bounded by Old Toodyay Road, Adams Road, Huntsman Terrace, Talbot Road, and Taaffe Road within the local government areas of the City of Swan and the Shire of Mundaring.
The warning was officially issued at 2:57 PM on Sunday, 21 December 2025.
