Bullsbrook Bushfire Emergency: Residents Urged to Evacuate Immediately
Bullsbrook Bushfire: Emergency Evacuation Underway

Residents in parts of Bullsbrook are facing an immediate evacuation order as an out-of-control bushfire rages through Perth's northern suburbs, putting lives and properties at serious risk.

Emergency Warning Issued

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services escalated the situation to an emergency level around 2:40pm on Friday, November 28, 2025, issuing the highest-level alert for people living between Tonkin Highway and Sawpit Road in Bullsbrook.

"You are in danger and need to act immediately," a DFES spokesperson declared in the urgent bulletin. The fire ignited approximately at 1pm and has since grown rapidly, burning on both sides of Tonkin Highway while moving in a north-easterly direction.

Immediate Threat to Homes

Fire authorities confirmed the blaze remains uncontained and uncontrolled, with properties along Sawpit Road directly in the fire's path. Emergency services have been clear in their instructions to residents: "If the way is clear, leave now for a safer place."

DFES recommends evacuees head in an easterly direction if safe to do so, suggesting family or friends outside the danger zone as potential refuge points. The warning carries a stark message about the consequences of hesitation: "Do not wait and see, leaving at the last minute could put your life in danger."

Emergency Response and Road Closures

A significant firefighting operation is underway, with waterbombers joining ground crews in the battle against the flames. The emergency response has necessitated several road closures, including Tonkin Highway between The Promenade and Stock West Road.

Motorists are being urged to avoid the entire area, reduce speeds and exercise extreme caution when driving near the fire zone. The combination of fire activity, emergency vehicles and potential smoke haze creates hazardous conditions for travel.

A separate watch and act warning remains active for residents in areas bounded by Maralla Road to the south, Tonkin Highway to the east, Warbrook Road to the north and west, and Tonkin Highway in Bullsbrook. DFES indicates there is "a possible threat to lives and homes as a fire is burning in the area and conditions are changing."

The situation continues to develop rapidly, with emergency services working to contain the blaze and protect affected communities.
