UK reality TV star Jess Wright's son was airlifted to a hospital after a "freak" bouncy castle accident left him "struggling to breathe."
The The Only Way Is Essex personality shared the "really scary" experience on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, which left her 4-year-old son, Presley, "clinging" to her.
"Presley got catapulted off the top of a bouncy castle high in the air and landed face down on hard wooden floor from about three meters high. A noise that silenced the whole party and will haunt me I'm sure," she wrote.
Wright, 40, revealed that her young son was left "struggling to breathe" and then "passed out."
"To say he was in a state is an understatement as well as mum and dad," she continued. "We were blue lit to the trauma unit in London and on the journey things were being discussed like broken ribs, spine injury & worse."
Miraculous Recovery
Fortunately, the little boy was released from hospital just a few hours after being admitted. But Presley was "miraculously" released from the hospital just "a few hours later" with "no injuries other than a few bruises."
Wright admitted that the whole ordeal has left her and her husband, William Lee-Kemp, "traumatised."
Heart Condition Concerns
Presley was diagnosed with bicuspid aortic valve, a congenital heart disease, when he was two. Because of this, Wright explained that she and Lee-Kamp were even more concerned about their son's health.
"Like most I'm sure, Will and I are so very panicky around Presleys safety, [especially] because of his heart condition, so the fact this happened to him, we were beside ourselves. It was a freak accident that couldn't have been avoided but I will say I'll be more careful in future if the bouncy castle is on a wooden floor oppose to mats or, I guess, maybe grass."
The singer thanked the families at the birthday party who helped them as well as the ambulance team and doctors at the Royal London Hospital.
In another post, Wright shared a heartbreaking photo of Presley in a stretcher and wrote, "Scariest day of my life. Have thanked God every day that he's OK because it was truly horrendous seeing him in the state he was here and just before."
Positive Update
In a more positive update, she posted a photo of Presley playing in a hospital bed and said he was in recovery.
Wright rose to fame when she starred on TOWIE from 2010 to 2016. After appearing in 16 series of the ITV show, she announced her departure.
Since leaving TOWIE, Wright has appeared on several other British reality TV shows, including Celebrity Karaoke Club, Dance Dance Dance, and Cooking with the Stars.
She and Lee-Kamp started dating in 2019 after meeting through her brother, Mark. They tied the knot in 2021 in a lavish ceremony in Mallorca, Spain. The following year, they welcomed their son.
