Lynwood's Friday Night Eats Adds Free Family Movie This Weekend
Free Movie at Lynwood's Friday Night Eats Event

The City of Canning is elevating its popular Friday Night Eats experience this week with an exciting addition that's sure to delight families across Lynwood and beyond.

Special Movie Night Addition

This Friday evening, November 7 from 6pm to 9pm, Edgeware Park in Lynwood will transform into an open-air cinema as part of the regular Friday Night Eats program. Attendees will be treated to a complimentary screening of the new release How To Train Your Dragon, creating a perfect family outing that combines dinner and entertainment.

The free film presentation comes courtesy of the City of Canning's Youth Services team, which has built a strong reputation for hosting youth-focused community movie nights that consistently draw crowds of local families.

Full Evening of Entertainment

Beyond the cinematic experience, the event will feature multiple food trucks offering diverse culinary options, live entertainment performances, and specially curated activities designed to keep children engaged throughout the evening.

Organisers strongly recommend that families come prepared with their own picnic rugs or portable chairs to ensure maximum comfort during the movie screening. The event maintains a pet-friendly policy, welcoming well-behaved animals provided they remain on leads throughout the event.

Community-Focused Initiative

Mayor Patrick Hall expressed enthusiasm about the enhanced event, stating: "We wanted to make this Friday Night Eats special for the Canning community. It pairs the great food the event is known for with a top-class, family-friendly film for everybody to enjoy."

He further emphasized the city's commitment to accessible community programming, noting: "Both of these events separately highlight the city's commitment to providing free and inclusive events for everybody. By combining the events in the beautiful Edgeware Park, it's set to be the must-attend event of the season."

The combination of established food truck offerings with family entertainment represents the City of Canning's ongoing effort to create vibrant community spaces and provide value to residents through free public programming.
