The Shepherd's Hut

Black Swan Theatre Company presents this stage adaptation of Tim Winton's novel about the unlikely bond formed between a teenage runaway and a disgraced Irish former priest in WA's harsh Saltlands. Ralph McTell: Somewhere Down The Road Farewell Tour

Fifty years after he first toured Australia, the UK folk singer-songwriter is returning with a swag of stories and songs. He is best known for having penned the much-loved song Streets Of London in 1969. Tickets $80 to $90 from tickets.artsculturetrust.wa.gov.au.

2026 Banh Mi Festival

Saturday May 9, 11am to 9pm, Yokine Reserve, Yokine

This is the third year of this popular celebration of the Vietnamese street food. There will be face painting, lion dancing by GDPT Chanh Tin Lion Dance Troupe, carnival rides and side show games, live music, market stalls, and lots and lots of banh mi. Free.

Red Hot Summer Tour

We're unsure if you can call an event occurring in mid-May Red Hot Summer, but apparently you can. This one-day mini-festival has an epic line-up, headlined by Paul Kelly. He is joined by Missy Higgins. You can also catch The Cruel Sea, The Cat Empire, Kasey Chambers and Jess Hitchcock. Tickets $159.90 to $209.90 from Ticketmaster.
