Princess Catherine Opens Up About Lifestyle Shift Following Cancer Diagnosis
Princess Catherine has shared a significant lifestyle change she has adopted since her cancer diagnosis, offering a rare personal insight during a public engagement in London. While visiting the Bermondsey Beer Mile in Southwark, Catherine and her husband Prince William met with local brewers at the heart of London's beer production. The royal couple participated in activities such as pouring pints, but while William sampled the beverages, Catherine reportedly declined to drink any alcohol.
Catherine's Candid Explanation for Avoiding Alcohol
According to Matt Wilkinson, the royal editor for The Sun, Princess Catherine explained her decision to those present at the event. Wilkinson posted on social media platform X that Catherine stated, "Since my diagnosis I haven't had much alcohol. It's something I have to be a lot more conscious of now." This candid remark provides a glimpse into how her life has transformed since she began her cancer treatment.
The mother of three first revealed in March 2024 that she was undergoing treatment for cancer, stepping back from her royal duties to focus on recovery. In January 2025, she shared with relief that she was in remission. Since then, Catherine has gradually resumed public engagements, occasionally discussing her journey toward health and wellness.
Royal Couple's Busy Day in London
During the outing, the Prince and Princess of Wales were greeted by enthusiastic crowds as they toured Borough Market, one of London's most renowned food destinations. Their security team remained nearby as they warmly interacted with fans and well-wishers. On their official Instagram account, the couple commented, "Dropping in at Borough Market to celebrate some of the people and producers at the heart of London's thriving food and drink community. A wonderful reminder of how food brings people together."
In addition to meeting stallholders, William and Catherine actively participated by helping to serve food and drinks. They dished up apple crumble and made coffee, engaging directly with the community. Later in the day, the couple took to the water, joining the Royal National Lifeboat Institution for a trip down the River Thames to learn more about the lifesaving services provided by the organization.
This visit highlights Catherine's ongoing recovery and her commitment to balancing public life with personal health considerations, as she navigates life after cancer with increased awareness and adjustments to her daily habits.
