Man charged with stealing Bondi terror victim's camera

A photographer is set to appear in court after being accused of stealing camera equipment that belonged to a victim of the Bondi Beach terror attack.

Details of the incident

Peter Meagher, a 61-year-old photographer and retired police officer, was among 15 people killed during the Hannukah By The Sea event at North Bondi on December 14. Investigations revealed that his camera gear had been stolen in the aftermath of the attack.

More than five months later, on Wednesday, police executed a search warrant at a home in Marayong, where they arrested a 35-year-old man. Police allege the man was also a photographer at the event and pawned Meagher's equipment just days after the tragedy.
