A brazen fuel thief has been caught red-handed siphoning diesel from a truck on the Gold Coast, with the dramatic confrontation captured on camera.
Owner confronts thief
The truck owner, James, spotted the thief in the act through his security cameras and immediately rushed out to confront him.
In the footage, James can be heard yelling at the thief: “What are you doing, though? What are you doing? You’re dropping all me flaming diesel. What are you flaming doing, bro?”
James said his response was instinctive. “It was just a one-second response, really. I was like, nah, screw this guy,” he said.
Thief returns for second attempt
But the confrontation wasn’t enough to deter the determined thief, who returned to the scene just minutes later for another attempt.
James charged at him a second time, forcing the would-be thief to flee once again.
Police are yet to make an arrest over the incident.
