Jules Neale demands friend remove Instagram photos after 'betrayal'
Jules Neale demands friend delete Instagram photos

The personal life of Brisbane Lions superstar Lachie Neale has been thrust into the spotlight after his wife, Jules Neale, issued a public demand for a close friend to remove Instagram photos, escalating a deeply personal drama.

Public Statement Reveals Deep Hurt

This new development comes just days after Jules Neale herself addressed swirling rumours about her marriage. On Friday, 22 December 2025, the Perth-born WAG posted a pointed statement to her Instagram story to set the record straight.

"I want to make it clear that I am not 'working through' anything," her statement read. "I have been betrayed in the most unimaginable way. All I can do now is to heal and do what's best for my children."

The post, signed "Jules x," thanked followers for their love and support. It followed online speculation that the couple were attempting to reconcile their differences.

A Friend Drawn Into the Fray

In a significant twist, it has since emerged that Jules Neale directly called out a close female friend on social media. In a now-deleted comment on the friend's Instagram post, Jules wrote: "Take these (pictures) down..."

This intervention suggests the fallout from the marital breakdown extends beyond the immediate family. Meanwhile, Jules has taken clear steps on her own social media, scrubbing her profile of photos featuring her husband and unfollowing his account. Lachie Neale, however, continues to follow his wife, and her images remain on his profile.

A Family Celebration Overshadowed

The couple's escalating issues cast a shadow over what should have been a joyful family milestone. Just days before her public statement, on 16 December 2024, Jules posted heartfelt photos celebrating their son Freddie's first birthday.

"This little man, and his beautiful big sister have taught me what real love, courage, and joy look like," she captioned the post, addressing her children, four-year-old Piper and Freddie. Lachie Neale was notably absent from all the birthday images.

The pair, who wed in a romantic Perth riverside ceremony in 2018, relocated to Brisbane that same year after Lachie was traded from Fremantle Dockers to the Lions. In his emotional 2020 Brownlow Medal acceptance speech, Lachie publicly praised Jules for her sacrifices, including selling her Perth salon to support his career move across the country.

"She's the most selfless person I know and my biggest support," he said at the time. The stark contrast between those words and the current situation has left fans and the AFL community deeply concerned for the family's wellbeing.
