Hugh Jackman has officially debuted his new girlfriend, Sutton Foster, at the 2026 Met Gala, while sources reveal he is urging his ex-wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, to find peace following their high-profile separation.
The Australian actor turned heads at the prestigious fashion event, donning a sleek Giorgio Armani tuxedo accented with a diamond brooch. He beamed as he held hands with Foster, who dazzled in a shimmering gold gown for her first Met Gala appearance, as they posed together for photographers.
The couple, who have been dating since late 2024, exchanged affectionate glances throughout the evening, with Jackman watching proudly as Foster posed solo for the cameras. This marks a significant milestone in their relationship, coming after Jackman and Furness attended numerous Met Galas together during their marriage, from their first in 2004 to their last in 2023, just four months before their split.
Jackman attended the 2024 event alone and missed last year's entirely. His decision to bring Foster as his date to the globally watched gala aligns with insider reports that the Wolverine star is ready to take responsibility for the breakdown of his marriage and hopes to move forward amicably.
“He’s ready to take total responsibility for his part in the breakdown of their marriage. Hugh never intended to hurt Deb,” a source told Radar Online. “Hugh feels terrible that things have gotten so ugly between them. They have decades of history together, and he would love it if they could take the good of that and leave the bad behind.”
Jackman is particularly hopeful that he and Furness can heal in time for their daughter Ava’s 21st birthday in July. “Ava turns 21 in July and Hugh would like for them to all celebrate the moment together.
