Mick Jagger Stuns Oxfordshire Pub with Surprise Folk Song Performance
Mick Jagger's Surprise Pub Gig Leaves Locals Stunned

Rolling Stones legend Sir Mick Jagger left locals stunned with a 'surreal' surprise performance at a British pub on Sunday evening. The world-famous rock star walked into The Half Moon pub in Oxfordshire and joined the Irish band who were performing, belting out the folk song Handsome Molly — changing the lyrics to be about Dublin instead of London.

Impromptu Gig Delights Pub-Goers

In video obtained by The Sun, Mick, who has not played live with his band since 2024, sang the track he previously covered in 1993 on his solo album Wandering Spirit. One stunned pub-goer told the publication: 'We were sitting right by the band when a small group wandered over towards the musicians. I caught a glimpse of one of them from the side and said to my mates, Wait … is that Mick Jagger?'

Fellow patrons described the moment as 'surreal'. 'A few moments later, someone hopped onto the piano, and Mick just started belting out some lyrics. The most surreal part was that almost nobody seemed to realise it was him. There were no crowds and you could really tell just how much fun Mick was having,' another attendee added.

New Album and Tour Plans

The surprise performance comes ahead of the release next month of a new Rolling Stones album called Foreign Tongues. Earlier this month, Mick said he 'can't wait' to tour again with bandmates Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood. He told BBC's Radio 2: 'I can't wait. I don't think it's going to be this year. But hopefully it's going to be as soon as possible.'
