WA Builders Shine: Claremont Tower & City Beach Renovation Win National Awards
WA Projects Win Big at National Master Builders Awards

Western Australia's construction industry has punched well above its weight on the national stage, with local builders securing six prestigious awards at the 2025 Master Builders National Excellence in Building and Construction Awards in Adelaide.

Coastal Excellence Leads the Charge

The state's impressive haul was spearheaded by two exceptional coastal projects. Multiplex's landmark The Grove Residences in Claremont clinched the coveted Cbus National High Rise Apartment Building Award. The luxury development, designed by MJA Studio, spans a 15,741 square metre site and features four buildings housing 228 homes, premium amenities, and panoramic views from the coast to the city.

At the residential renovation level, Balcatta-based Addstyle Master Builders triumphed in the $350,000 to $500,000 category, winning the 2025 National Renovations/Extensions Award for a transformative City Beach home. The project cleverly added a new third-floor main suite, expanded living areas, and refreshed alfresco zones, all designed to maximise the prized coastal outlook.

A Testament to State-Wide Talent

Master Builders WA CEO Matt Moran hailed the results as a significant achievement, noting that WA members represent only about 6 per cent of the national membership base. "For a State that represents around 6 per cent of the total national member base, taking out six awards is a huge achievement," Mr Moran said. He praised the dedication and talent of local builders, whose work sets benchmarks for innovation and excellence across Australia.

The winning streak extended beyond Perth's western suburbs. Murdoch Square received the 2025 National Lifestyle Housing for Seniors Award – Aged Care Facilities. The development, featuring 182 rooms, was commended for its modern facade, low-maintenance finishes, and design that prioritises safety, comfort, and easy navigation for residents.

Regional and Residential Recognition

Regional Western Australia also earned national acclaim. CMA Contracting's Cable Beach Foreshore Redevelopment Stage 1 in Broome won the 2025 National Civil/Infrastructure Award for projects under $25 million. The redevelopment enhanced the iconic foreshore with new pathways, dune protection, recreational facilities, and environmentally sensitive turtle-friendly lighting, showcasing thoughtful planning and quality construction.

In Perth's south, AMG Home Builders were recognised with the 2025 National Contract Home Award for a luxurious three-storey North Coogee residence valued between $1 million and $2 million. The home boasts opulent finishes and seamless indoor-outdoor living with sweeping ocean views.

Further highlighting business excellence, the father-and-son team from The Minniti Group secured the 2025 National Business Excellence Award for a medium residential building company. This back-to-back win follows their success at last year's event and underscores their commitment to quality and personalised service.

Mr Moran concluded that the awards celebrate more than just structures. "These awards celebrate not just the projects but the people behind them — builders, subcontractors, and their teams who go above and beyond to transform communities," he said. All winning projects had previously claimed top honours at the state-level MBAWA Building Excellence Awards in September.
