Police have taken a young woman into custody following a violent incident at a hotel in the Newcastle suburb of Carrington on Friday morning.
Altercation Leads to Stabbing
Emergency services were called to a venue on Young Street just before 11am on January 16, 2026, after reports of an altercation. It is understood a dispute broke out between a man and a woman, both aged in their 20s, in the upstairs accommodation of the establishment.
Officers from Newcastle Police rushed to the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered a 22-year-old man suffering from a laceration to his arm. Police confirmed the wound was consistent with an attack with a knife.
Man Hospitalised, Woman Arrested
