A man has been threatened with a knife and robbed in his own garage during a shocking daylight home invasion in the Illawarra suburb of Unanderra.
Brazen Afternoon Attack
The incident occurred at a property on Staff Road at approximately 1pm on Tuesday, November 4. According to a NSW Police spokeswoman, the victim was inside his home when two unknown men approached him.
The men allegedly forced the victim to the ground in his garage before threatening him at knifepoint. The assailants then stole a quantity of jewellery, cash, and credit cards from the property.
Police Hunt for Two Men
Following the robbery, the two offenders fled the scene on foot, running south along Staff Road. Officers from Lake Illawarra Police District attended and established a crime scene, launching a full investigation into the armed robbery.
In a significant development, police publicly released CCTV footage on Friday, December 5 showing two men they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries. The images have been circulated in the hope that members of the public can help identify the individuals.
Appeal for Information
Investigators are urging anyone with information about the robbery or who recognises the men in the CCTV images to come forward. Police are also keen to obtain any private CCTV or dashcam footage from the Staff Road area around the time of the incident.
