Central Coast man charged over break-ins, gun and drug offences

A 31-year-old man from Springfield on the Central Coast is facing a string of serious charges following a police investigation into alleged break-ins and the discovery of illicit drugs and a firearm.

Police investigation triggered by stolen motorcycle

Brisbane Water Police commenced their inquiries in December last year after a motorcycle was reported stolen from a home in Gosford. According to police reports, three men allegedly broke into a unit block carpark on Whiteway Drive just before midnight on Tuesday, December 2, making off with several items including the motorbike.

Searches uncover firearm, ammunition and drugs

Following their initial investigations, officers executed a search at a storage shed located in Erina. This search allegedly led to the discovery of a motorcycle, a firearm, ammunition and a quantity of drugs.

The investigation culminated on Friday, January 16, 2026, when police arrested the 31-year-old man at a property on Sherwood Drive in Springfield. A subsequent search of that address allegedly uncovered further evidence, including another motorcycle, a number plate, 3.32 grams of heroin and 1.23 grams of methylamphetamine (ice). All items were seized by police.

Multiple charges laid, bail refused

The Springfield man was taken to Gosford Police Station and formally charged. The charges relate to aggravated break-and-enter, as well as several firearm and drug offences.

Police refused the man bail at the station, and this decision was later upheld during a formal bail hearing in court on the same day. He is scheduled to appear before Gosford Local Court on January 21, 2026.

Authorities have stated that their investigations into the matter are ongoing.
