Dalaroo Metals Uncovers High-Grade Gold in West Africa Through Scout Sampling
Fresh from initiating on-ground fieldwork in Côte d'Ivoire just a week ago, Dalaroo Metals has swiftly delivered promising early results that could elevate its Bondoukou gold project from a mere curiosity to a high-priority drilling target. The company's due diligence scout rock-chip sampling has produced high-grade gold findings, with values reaching up to 17.95 grams per tonne (g/t), confirming robust mineralisation in a region already known for hosting significant deposits.
Impressive Sampling Results from Early Reconnaissance
While the sampling effort was part of an early-stage reconnaissance, Dalaroo emphasises it was selective, with six samples collected from quartz veins and quartz-rich material exposed in artisanal workings. Four of these samples returned standout values of 17.95g/t, 8.01g/t, 4.95g/t, and 3.59g/t gold, while the remaining two samples yielded grades of 0.5g/t and 0.68g/t gold. In the world of gold exploration, such outcomes from a preliminary assessment are highly encouraging and suggest a potentially substantial mineralised system.
Artisanal workings extend approximately 600 metres along strike in the northern part of the project area, indicating that these results may not be isolated but could represent a broader system with possible continuity in both strike and depth. This aligns with the project's location within West Africa's globally recognised Birimian greenstone belt, one of the planet's most fertile gold provinces, spanning five African nations and renowned for numerous Tier-1 gold discoveries.
Strategic Location and Exploration Potential
The Bondoukou project lies 35 kilometres northwest of Endeavour Mining's Tanda-Iguela gold project, a major greenfield discovery with a 4.6-million-ounce resource at 1.95g/t gold and a 14.5-year mine life. This proximity underscores the broader region's prospectivity and adds credibility to Dalaroo's findings. The company believes the quartz veins in its area follow interpreted structural corridors, with multiple small-scale workings scattered across the zone, hinting at structurally controlled gold mineralisation that can offer good continuity when geological conditions are favourable.
This news follows Dalaroo's recent announcement of systematic geological field mapping in the Bondoukou region, after completing initial stakeholder engagement and mobilisation. The field program covers nine kilometres of prospective strike, focusing on priority structural corridors and local near-surface mining activity. With mapping and geochemical programs now underway, the company's near-term goal is to refine its understanding of structural controls and assess the system's scale, using detailed mapping, surface sampling, and drone-assisted interpretation to prioritise initial drill targets.
Expert Insights and Future Outlook
Dalaroo Metals chief executive officer John Morgan commented, "These initial sampling results provide encouraging confirmation of high-grade gold mineralisation within quartz reef material exposed in the extensive artisanal workings at Bondoukou. While the sampling is selective in nature, the presence of multiple high-grade results within a well-endowed Birimian gold belt highlights the exploration potential of the project."
If Bondoukou continues to yield high-grade results as Dalaroo expands its sampling and sharpens targeting, the company may accelerate its exploration efforts in the near future. Although it's early days, a 17.95g/t gold result from surface rock-chip sampling is a strong initial indicator. The focus now shifts to mapping and geochemistry to transform this surface sparkle into precise drill targets, potentially unlocking further value in this promising gold province.
