BMG Resources Appoints Mining Veteran to Accelerate WA Gold Project
BMG Hires Executive to Fast-Track WA Gold Development

BMG Resources Bolsters Team to Fast-Track Gold Project in Western Australia

BMG Resources has sharpened its operational edge by hiring a seasoned mining executive as general manager to oversee project development and accelerate the Abercromby gold project in Western Australia's Agnew-Wiluna greenstone belt. The appointment is part of a strategic push to move the project toward the earliest possible production timeline.

Experienced Leadership to Drive Permitting and Planning

The new general manager, with 25 years of mining credentials, brings extensive experience from roles at Rio Tinto and other developers in Western Australia. His responsibilities will include driving permitting, stakeholder engagement, and mine planning to transition Abercromby from exploration to developer status swiftly.

Complementing this appointment, BMG has also secured a full-time project geologist for hands-on field supervision. Onsite activities are set to ramp up immediately, with a significant 10,000-meter diamond drilling campaign scheduled to commence later this month.

Drilling Campaign Aims to Boost Resource Confidence

The new drilling program will focus on upgrading the resource confidence to move more ounces into the indicated category. It will also target strike and dip extensions to expand Abercromby's maiden resource, which currently stands at 11.12 million tonnes containing 518,000 ounces of gold at 1.45 grams per tonne.

  • Combined indicated open pit and underground resources: 165,000 ounces of gold.
  • Inferred resources in the same areas: an additional 353,000 ounces of gold.

High-grade zones within the resource, starting near the surface and amenable to open-pit mining, provide clear focal points for the drilling efforts.

Strategic Advantages and Upcoming Milestones

The Abercromby project is situated on a granted mining lease in an established goldfields region, which simplifies regulatory pathways. Additionally, BMG has a Memorandum of Understanding with Wiluna Mining to potentially toll-treat free-milling ore at the nearby Matilda carbon-in-leach gold processing plant, with recoveries exceeding 90 percent.

A scoping study to evaluate open-pit and underground mining options and prioritize indicated resources for initial mine planning is due for release later this quarter. With strong gold prices and Western Australia's tier-1 infrastructure in a prolific gold-producing area, Abercromby presents a compelling low-capital expenditure and fast-track opportunity.

As experienced leadership comes aboard, drill rigs begin turning, and key milestones approach, an early resource upgrade could further momentum, ensuring the project progresses efficiently toward production.
