Chaotic Alleged Truck Theft in Perth

Four people have been charged over an alleged delivery truck theft in Perth's south. The truck was stolen during a delivery on Barbette Road in Willetton about 8:30am on May 5. CCTV footage captured the truck rocketing through the suburb with the truck loading ramp still deployed, and a fridge tumbling off of it to smash on the road.

The truck contained whitegoods and electronic items valued at about $50,000, WA Police said. It was later found abandoned in High Wycombe, police allege. Community tip-offs led police to identify a 42-year-old local man, and arrest him after a short foot chase through Riverton on Friday.

He was charged with one count each of Steal Motor Vehicle, Stealing, and No Authority to Drive (Never Held), and three counts of Possess a Prohibited Drug. Some of the allegedly stolen property was later found at a Forrestfield location, and a 43-year-old Forrestfield man was charged with one count of Receiving. A 56-year-old man from High Wycombe and a 17-year-old girl from Forrestfield have also been charged with drug-related offences in relation to the incident.

Police continue to investigate the incident and urge anyone with information to come forward. The 42-year-old Willetton man has been arrested following the theft of an Isuzu delivery truck containing $50,000 worth of white goods and electronics.
