Northbridge Tunnel Crash Causes Peak-Hour Traffic Chaos in Perth
Northbridge Tunnel Crash Triggers Peak-Hour Traffic Chaos

Perth motorists faced another frustrating peak-hour crawl on Thursday morning after a crash inside the Northbridge Tunnel slowed traffic heading westbound.

Crash Blocks Lane in Tunnel

Incident response crews closed the left lane inside the tunnel, with traffic banking up on approach. Drivers were urged to merge safely to avoid further incidents.

The crash added to congestion already building across the CBD road network during the morning rush, compounding delays for commuters.

Roadworks Add to Delays

Further delays were possible near the Loftus Street entry to the Graham Farmer Freeway eastbound, where roadworks forced the closure of the left lane. Speed limits through the area were reduced to 40km/h, although traffic was still flowing.

Debris on Kwinana Freeway

Drivers were also warned earlier about debris on the Kwinana Freeway northbound after Canning Highway at Como. A large bag was affecting the left lane and contributed to slow traffic during the morning peak before it was later cleared.

Motorists have been urged to proceed with caution and allow extra travel time as delays continue to affect the network.
