A man has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a glider crash in the Hunter Valley, marking the second such aviation incident in the region within two days.
Emergency Response to Ravensworth Crash
Emergency services, including the critical care medical team from the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, were dispatched to Ravensworth, near Singleton, on the afternoon of Sunday, December 28. The call came in after a glider was involved in a crash landing close to the New England Highway at approximately 4:30pm.
The patient, a man in his 60s, was treated at the scene by the helicopter's specialist medical crew. He sustained significant injuries, including chest and back trauma, as well as abrasions. Following initial treatment, he was transported by air to John Hunter Hospital for further urgent care.
