Singapore's Changi Airport Crowned World's Best for 2026
Changi Airport Named World's Best for 2026

Singapore Changi Airport has once again secured the prestigious title of the World's Best Airport in the Skytrax 2026 World Airport Awards, as voted by passengers in the largest annual global airport customer satisfaction survey. This marks a continuation of its dominance, with Changi now a 13-time winner of this accolade.

Asia-Pacific Airports Dominate Top Rankings

The awards highlighted the strong performance of Asia-Pacific airports, which claimed the first five positions in the global rankings. Notably, Doha's Hamad International Airport, a consistent top contender since 2018, withdrew from the competition this year due to the ongoing situation in the Middle East.

Changi's Multiple Accolades

In addition to the overall best airport award, Singapore Changi Airport received several other honors, including world's best airport dining, world's best airport in the 60-70 million passenger category, world's best airport immigration service, and the best airport in Asia. These awards underscore its comprehensive excellence in passenger services and facilities.

Tokyo's Haneda International Airport retained its third position and won awards for the world's cleanest major airport, world's best domestic airport, and best facilities for persons with reduced mobility. Hong Kong International Airport climbed to fourth place and was praised for having the world's best airport washrooms and security processing. Tokyo's Narita International Airport held onto fifth place.

Australian Airports' Mixed Results

Australian airports showed varied performances in the rankings. Melbourne was the highest-ranked Australian airport at number 21, down from 16 in 2025, but it earned the title of best airport in the Australia/Pacific region. Brisbane dropped to number 40 but won the award for the cleanest airport in Australia/Pacific. Sydney improved slightly to number 52, while Perth moved up to 58th place without winning any specific awards. Adelaide fell to 72nd but was recognized as the best regional airport and for having the best airport staff in Australia/Pacific.

The Skytrax awards, based on passenger feedback, provide a comprehensive overview of global airport standards, with this year's results reinforcing the leadership of Asia-Pacific hubs in delivering exceptional travel experiences.
