Man Shot by Police in Logan Confrontation

Police have shot a man in his 40s after he allegedly confronted officers with a firearm at a residence in Logan, south of Brisbane, on Friday night.

Incident Details

Officers attended a home on Caswell Road around 9pm following reports of a man armed with a gun. Upon arrival, police allege the man advanced towards them while holding the firearm, prompting an officer to discharge their weapon.

“The man allegedly advanced on police and he was subsequently shot by officers,” Queensland Police said in a statement.

Response and Medical Treatment

Locals were advised to stay indoors as police administered first aid to the wounded man. Paramedics arrived shortly after and airlifted him to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.

Investigation Underway

The Ethical Standards Command has launched an investigation into the shooting, which is being overseen by the Crime and Corruption Commission. The incident remains under review to determine the circumstances leading to the use of force.
