More than 30 bags of cocaine, $14,300 in cash and a knife were seized during an early morning vehicle stop in Sydney's inner city on Sunday.
Police Patrol Leads to Stop
Police were patrolling Surry Hills about 2am on Sunday when they spotted a Hyundai hatchback allegedly being driven dangerously on Flinders St. The vehicle was stopped a short time later on Chisholm Street, where officers spoke with the driver before carrying out a search.
Search Yields Drugs, Cash, Weapon
During the search, police allegedly located 31 bags of cocaine with an estimated street value of $9,300, along with $14,300 in cash and a knife. The 19-year-old driver was arrested and taken to Surry Hills Police Station.
Charges and Court Appearance
He was charged with alleged drug supply, possessing a knife in a public place, dealing with suspected proceeds of crime, and negligent driving. The man was refused bail and was due to appear before Bail Division Local Court on Sunday.
