Iran Shuts Strait of Hormuz, Threatens Ships After US Strikes

Iran’s top joint military command has announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz for the passage of any vessels in response to a fresh wave of US strikes. In a post on Telegram, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that any ship attempting to traverse the strait would be targeted. The closure order encompasses oil tankers and commercial ships.

US Launches Additional Strikes

Earlier, Central Command (CENTCOM) declared that US forces had initiated additional self-defense strikes against multiple targets in Iran at the direction of the Commander in Chief. The strikes are a response to what CENTCOM described as Iran’s unwarranted and continued aggression.

IRGC Claims Hits on Vessels

In a separate Telegram post, the IRGC claimed that Iran had struck two vessels attempting to sail through the Strait of Hormuz. This incident marks a significant escalation in the ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran.
