Illawarra Hockey Centre Stages Masters Indoor State Championships

The Illawarra region recently played host to a significant sporting event, with the 2025/26 Hockey NSW Masters Men Indoor State Championships taking place at the Illawarra Hockey Centre in Unanderra. This three-day tournament, held from Friday, February 6 to Sunday, February 8, showcased some of the best hockey talent in the state among players aged 35 and over.

A Weekend of Competitive Action

The event attracted more than 250 participants, including players, coaches, officials, and volunteers, who came together for a weekend of intense competition. A total of 24 teams competed across three divisions, representing regions from across New South Wales.

The geographical spread of participating teams was particularly noteworthy, with representation extending from:

  • New England in the north
  • Coffs Harbour on the coast
  • Orange in the central west
  • Goulburn in the southern tablelands

Major metropolitan areas were also well represented, with teams from both the Illawarra region and Sydney competing for championship honors.
