Tow truck crash in WA's Great Southern leaves two injured

A serious crash involving a tow truck and a truck trailer in Western Australia's Great Southern region has left two people hospitalised with serious injuries.

Crash details

The incident occurred shortly after 6pm on Wednesday on Menang Drive in McKail, approximately 10 kilometres from Albany. Emergency services rushed to the scene following reports of a collision between a tow truck and a truck trailer.

A man and a woman, both aged in their 30s, sustained serious injuries in the crash. They were transported by St John Ambulance to Albany Hospital under lights and sirens. The woman arrived at the hospital at approximately 7.49pm, while the man arrived at 8.06pm.

Road closures and diversions

The crash prompted the closure of Menang Drive between Albany Highway and South Coast Highway. Main Roads WA advised motorists at the time to seek alternative routes while emergency services attended the scene and cleared the wreckage.

The cause of the collision is under investigation, and authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward.
