A crane has toppled onto a busy Sydney thoroughfare, causing significant peak-hour congestion for commuters on Friday morning. The incident occurred when a crane mounted on the back of a truck struck a rail bridge and crashed onto Woodville Road, just past Parramatta Road at Granville, around 7:15 am.

Traffic Disruptions and Emergency Response

According to Traffic NSW, two of the three southbound lanes on Woodville Road are currently closed. Motorists are strongly advised to avoid the area and allow extra travel time. Emergency services are on the scene, and footage shows metal debris scattered across the road.

The crash has resulted in major traffic delays, and it remains unclear how long the affected lanes will remain closed. Authorities are working to clear the wreckage and investigate the cause of the collision.
