WAFL State team coach Adam Read has declared he is 'pumped' and 'cannot wait' to lead his side into this weekend's clash with South Australia. Speaking to The West Australian, Read expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity to guide the team against a formidable opponent.
'I'm absolutely pumped. I cannot wait to get out there and represent Western Australia,' Read said. 'The preparation has been excellent, and the boys are really keen to put on a show.'
The WAFL State team has been training intensively ahead of the match, with Read praising the squad's depth and commitment. 'We've got a really strong group of players who have bought into the system. Everyone is working hard and pushing each other,' he added.
South Australia is expected to provide a tough challenge, but Read is confident in his team's ability to compete. 'They're a quality side, but we've done our homework. We know what to expect and we're ready to go.'
Read, who has previously coached at various levels, said leading the State team is a career highlight. 'It's a massive honour. You grow up watching these games and dreaming of being part of them. To now be the coach is something special.'
The match is scheduled for this weekend, with fans eager to see the WAFL State team in action. Read urged supporters to come out and back the side. 'We need that home ground advantage. The more support we get, the better we'll play.'
