West Coast emerging superstar Harley Reid has inspired the Eagles to a stirring 17-point victory over GWS Giants on Sunday night. In a rollercoaster clash, the Eagles kicked the final four goals of the match to seal an incredible victory.
Key Moments in the Match
Star forward Jake Waterman kicked two of those crucial goals before unlikely hero Bailey Williams capped off the greatest game of his career with a towering mark and goal with just over five minutes remaining.
Milan Murdock put the finishing touches on the upset victory with a goal after the final siren following a big tackle on Lachie Whitfield.
Breaking the Losing Streak
The win, which was West Coast's third of the season, ended a six-match losing streak. Reid was undoubtedly the star of the night, racking up 33 touches, 10 clearances, eight tackles and kicking two goals.
Speaking after the match, the 21-year-old surprisingly said the players had not been "buying in" to the system, but this performance showed what they are capable of.
"We were down in the dumps for a little bit there," he told Fox Footy. "I think we didn't find that our systems weren't working because I think we weren't buying into it as a group. We had a great sit down and we spoke to one and another, and I think that tonight showed what we can do at our best."
More to come as the Eagles look to build on this momentum.
