The Brisbane Lions have announced a significant change to their leadership structure, opting to appoint three players as co-captains for the upcoming season. This decision comes in the wake of Lachie Neale stepping down from the captaincy role, which he had shared with Harris Andrews for the past three years.

Lachie Neale, who played a key role in leading the Lions to back-to-back premierships, made the decision to relinquish his captaincy last month. In response, the club has chosen to promote Hugh McCluggage and Josh Dunkley to join Harris Andrews as co-captains, forming a new leadership trio.

"It was quite unique to have three guys that are more than capable of being great captains at your one club at the one time," Fagan stated. "If you have three good people, then why not have three captains?
