Adelaide Crows forward Callum Ah Chee has opened up about his departure from the Brisbane Lions, the interest shown by West Coast, and his belief that Adelaide can contend for a premiership in the near future.
Leaving Brisbane
Ah Chee, who was traded to the Crows at the end of last season, said the decision to leave the Lions was not easy but he felt a fresh start was needed. 'I loved my time at Brisbane, but I felt I needed a new challenge and more opportunity,' he said. 'The Crows showed a lot of faith in me, and I'm excited to be part of what they're building.'
West Coast's Interest
The 26-year-old also confirmed that West Coast had expressed interest in securing his services. 'There was some talk with West Coast, but in the end, Adelaide was the best fit for me and my family,' Ah Chee explained. 'I have a lot of respect for the Eagles, but I'm happy with my decision.'
Premiership Hopes
Ah Chee is bullish about Adelaide's prospects, believing the club is on the right track. 'We have a young, talented group and a great coaching staff. I genuinely believe we can win a premiership in the next few years,' he said. 'The culture here is strong, and everyone is buying into the game plan.'
The forward has already made an impact at the Crows, bringing his experience from 80 games at Brisbane. 'I want to help drive standards and contribute to the team's success,' he added.
