Police in the Australian Capital Territory are appealing to the public after a brazen late-night theft at a popular inner-city takeaway shop. A man is alleged to have stolen two substantial outdoor umbrellas, with a combined value estimated at $2000, from a business on Mort Street in Braddon.
The Alleged Incident Details
According to ACT Policing, the incident occurred at approximately 10.55pm on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. A man attended the takeaway store and allegedly removed two red outdoor umbrellas from the premises.
CCTV footage released by investigators shows the man of interest loading one umbrella into each of two utility vehicles—a white Nissan Navara and a red Toyota HiLux—before driving away in one of the utes.
Description of the Man and Vehicles
The individual police wish to identify is described as Caucasian with brown hair and a moustache. In the CCTV images, he is seen wearing a cap, denim jeans, a black shirt, and dark shoes.
The two vehicles believed to be involved are clearly identifiable: a white Nissan Navara and a red Toyota HiLux. Authorities are keen to trace the movements of these utilities.

ACT Policing has launched an investigation and is urging anyone with information to come forward. Detectives are particularly interested in speaking to:
