The Australian Federal Police have launched a public appeal to identify a woman who boarded a flight to Canberra, as part of an investigation into a series of thefts at Sydney Airport. The incidents involved designer items valued at approximately $4000 being stolen from a retail outlet.

Details of the Airport Thefts

According to an official AFP statement, the thefts occurred on three separate occasions: the mornings of September 3, September 7, and October 29, 2025. The targeted items, stolen from a store within the domestic Terminal 2, included high-value goods such as a Camilla silk scarf, Fendi sunglasses, and a GHD hair straightener.

Police have released CCTV footage and images captured at the airport on those dates, showing a woman they wish to speak with in connection to the investigation.

Description of the Woman Sought

The individual is described as having a Middle Eastern appearance, with long brown hair. A distinctive feature noted by authorities is that she speaks with a lisp.

During her appearances at the airport, she was seen carrying a maroon coloured handbag and a black bag. On different occasions, she was also observed with either a green or silver suitcase. Crucially, investigators confirmed that on one of these occasions, the woman was seen boarding a flight to Canberra.

The AFP is urging anyone who may have information about the thefts or who can identify the woman pictured in the released footage to come forward. This appeal is a key part of their efforts to progress the investigation.
