A tragic incident in Hobart's eastern suburbs has resulted in a woman's death and a man being charged with murder.
Police Discover Body After Welfare Check
Emergency services rushed to a residence in Montagu Bay shortly after 2:30 pm on Friday, responding to serious concerns for a person's welfare. Upon entering the home, officers made a grim discovery: the body of a woman.
The location was immediately declared a crime scene as investigations into the suspicious death commenced.
Man Arrested and Charged
Police investigations swiftly led to the arrest of a 33-year-old man. The man, who police stated is of no fixed address, was subsequently charged with one count of murder.
He was detained in custody to face the Hobart Magistrates Court on Saturday afternoon.
