Woman critical after being struck by car at Bargo worksite

A woman in her 20s is fighting for life in hospital after she was struck by a car at a worksite in Bargo on Thursday afternoon.

The incident occurred at a construction site on Railside Avenue about 4.45pm on April 30. Multiple paramedic crews were called to the scene and treated the woman before she was airlifted to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

A NSW Police spokesperson confirmed the male driver was uninjured but was taken to hospital for mandatory testing. Police have established a crime scene at the site and commenced an investigation. SafeWork NSW has also been notified and is conducting its own inquiry.

This incident comes just one week after an elderly man was struck and killed by a car in the Wollongong CBD. Police initially struggled to identify the man but later confirmed he was a 93-year-old following a public appeal.
