A truck breakdown on Reid Highway is causing significant headaches for commuters as peak-hour traffic hits Perth on Tuesday afternoon.
The breakdown was reported at 2:45pm on the westbound lanes after Wanneroo Road in Balcatta. Incident Response crews have closed the left lane, and traffic is moving slowly on approach to the area.
Main Roads has reminded drivers to allow for a safe merge if travelling in the vicinity.
Adding to the congestion, a crash on Kwinana Freeway has also been causing heavy delays for motorists. The crash occurred on the southbound lanes at Roe Highway in Jandakot and was reported by Main Roads at 3:29pm.
Although the crash has since been cleared, traffic remains slow leading up to the incident site. Main Roads has urged motorists to exercise extreme caution if travelling in the area.
Commuters are advised to allow extra travel time and consider alternative routes to avoid the affected areas.
