A major emergency response was launched in Goldsborough, south of Cairns, after a person became stuck in a river. Emergency services, including police, fire crews, and paramedics, rushed to the scene near the Mulgrave River on Tuesday afternoon.
Rescue Operation Details
The incident occurred around 2:30 pm when reports indicated a person was trapped in the water. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) deployed swift water rescue teams, while the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) prepared for medical assistance. A helicopter was also placed on standby to assist with the operation.
Crews worked to safely extract the individual from the river. The person was eventually brought to shore and assessed by paramedics. Their condition is not yet known, but they are believed to have been conscious when rescued.
