An elderly man has been taken into custody following a distressing discovery at a residential property in Melbourne's northern suburbs early on Sunday morning.
Emergency Response to Wollert Incident
Emergency services were urgently dispatched to Saltlake Boulevard in Wollert at approximately 6:30 am after receiving reports concerning an unresponsive woman with visible injuries.
Despite the immediate efforts of paramedics and first responders at the scene, the elderly woman could not be revived and was pronounced deceased at the location.

Victoria Police have confirmed that an elderly man, who is known to the deceased woman, was arrested a short time after the initial emergency call.
Detectives involved in the case have stated they are not currently searching for any other individuals in relation to this incident.
